Chris Richard is a passionate acoustic guitar player with an Adult Contemporary/Southern sound that has you singing along with every note even though it is your first time hearing the song. 

Born and raised in the south, Chris Richard, at twenty-six years old, has continued to stick to his southern roots in Lafayette, Louisiana. He likes to keep it simple yet artistic. With his acoustic guitar it can feel like you're at a concert, or sitting around with a bunch of friends singing your favorite songs. Chris began to learn how to play the guitar at thirteen years old, and had already started to pick up songs by ear. Not long after learning how to play the guitar he started writing some of his own original material. Chris writes simple songs with powerful meanings, grabbing your attention with the first note and taking you on a personal experience throughout the song. “The key to a good song to me is when two different people listen to a song and when it is done, both of them were touched in different ways. If I can touch one person with one of my songs…that is what makes the sweat and tears of writing a song worth it.” Some of his influences are John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Amos Lee, The Dave Matthews Band, Garth Brooks, Otis Redding, and Sam Cooke. The list can go on, but the diversity of musical influences can be heard in many of his recordings. 

With his “Lo-Fi” recordings circling around the internet, Chris has already gained attention from his songs playing on internet radio stations as well as independent college stations. Along with the radio stations you can find his music on Myspace. “Getting your name out to the public is the hardest thing, and when Myspace came around for musicians I jumped on that bandwagon and have never looked back. I love my fans, so this gives me a way to interact with them on a more personal level.” 

From here the sky is the limit. Chris Richard will continue to captivate his listeners whether it would be in a living room full of friends or at a show packed with fans. He will continue to deliver the same performance time after time.
